Custom Histology Services
Precision in spatial biology begins at the microtome. At MVS Pacific, we specialize in the custom sectioning of paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissues, prioritizing morphological integrity and ribbon consistency for high-plex downstream applications. Unlike high-volume core facilities, we treat microtomy as an exacting craft—utilizing specialized blade geometries, meticulous block-chilling protocols, and slow-stroke technical precision to produce ultra-thin, uniform sections (2–5 µm) that are virtually free of compression or "chatter." Our custom approach is particularly critical for challenging, heterogeneous specimens—such as fibrotic pain models, decalcified bone, or delicate neural interfaces—where maintaining the exact spatial orientation of a few microns can be the difference between data and noise. By ensuring a flawlessly flat and intact tissue architecture, we provide the ideal foundation for the rigorous demands of cyclic immunofluorescence and adjudicated spatial profiling.
- Minimal Epitope Loss: Gentle sectioning prevents mechanical stress that can lead to tissue "lifting" or antigen degradation during harsh retrieval cycles.
- Spatial Fidelity: Our focus on tissue orientation ensures that deep serial sections maintain anatomical alignment for 3D reconstruction.
- Adjudication Readiness: We produce "pathology-grade" slides that are optimized for the high-resolution imaging required to validate complex molecular signatures.
- Precision: Cut 2-10 µm thick FFPE tissue sections for routine histology, histopathology and spatial biology.
- Spatial Biology projects: perfectly positioned tissue sections on histological slides to match the position of the microfluidic chip.
- Proprietary tools: We utilize our proprietary blades for artefact-free cutting tissues of different origin, density and hardness
- Different species: Human and animal tissues, cell pellets and organoids
- No limitations: Single tissues and high-density tissue microarrays (TMAs)
